Early Life And Education
Chimamanda Pearl Chukwuma known as Qing Madi was born and brought up in Benin city, Edo State by her mother. She is originally from Delta State in South Eastern part of Nigeria. She completed primary education in Benin, and attended Negbenegbor International School also in Benin for her secondary education. she performed in various talent shows and in church choir as a little girl. That is obviously were she got the drive and passion for music.
Qing Madi Career
In 2022, her songs “See finish” and “Ole” (featuring Bnxn) and went viral on TikTok, which later peaked at number one on the Uganda Top 100 Apple Music chart and number three on the Nigeria Top 100 Apple Music chart. Both songs were released as singles from Madi’s debut extended play, Qing Madi EP (2023).
Qing Madi was chosen as the Spotify Africa Equal Ambassador for the month of June 2023. She released a seven track self-titled EP In November 2023, that collected most of her recordings thus far.
In January 2024, alongside Tyla, OdumoduBlvck and Bloody Civilian, Qing Madi was inducted into Apple Music’s Rising Class of 2024.
